This holiday home was very much influenced by the beauty of the natural landscape surrounding the house. We were taken with all the boathouses, sail boats, the charm of the mariners surrounding the area and Pittwater waterways. The rockface, natural sandstone materials which are typical to the area and blue of the sea and sky also played into our colours and materials for this renovation
The porthole window became a unique feature of the home, highlighting a beautifully tiled arch in the courtyard
The existing architectural gesture of a floating ceiling with highlight glazing felt outdated in the living and kitchen. We closed high-level windows to create a more intimate living and kitchen area and added volumous sheer curtains to soften the architecture and create privacy in the living space. They help filter the strong sunlight that floods these spaces
Micro cement was perfect for out minimal and practical client – no cleaning and busy grout lines. This finish needed to be warmed up to make the spaces feel warm and inviting – not cold
The outlook and views and context is the real magic of this property, we set about capitalising on this without neglecting the feeling of the interior and fit out which had to demand equal attention and balance the beauty outside with what we could achieve within
The newly designed gym and sauna are perfect for relaxed holidays and weekends
